In October 2019 the chairman of Scientific expert panel issued the first KEM full year progress report 2017-2018 for the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate. It was accompanied by a letter including a few suggestions and questions raised by the scientific expert panel. In February 2020 the KEM year report 2017-2018 and panel recommendations were discussed between the chairman and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate (S. Gaastra and R. Cino) and State supervision of Mines (T. Kockelkoren). Both authorities support to extend KEM with three years and follow the suggestion to start the development of a mining effect hazard and risk assessment (hra) public model toolbox programme, starting with a seismic hra for Groningen.
