The KEM scientific panel on Societal effects of Mining started in 2024 with the responsibility to start up KEM in this direction. The fist step has been to produce a SEM-strategy.

The members have been selected and nominated based on scientific excellence and networks in their field and not being affiliated with or working for mining companies. Current scientific expert panel members are:

  • Prof. Danielle Timmermans (University of Amsterdam, Netherlands),

  • Prof. Michel Dückers (University of Groningen, Netherlands),
